Connecting a channel is a calendar link and a data agreement at once. Some figures about your listing and bookings travel to the platform on a schedule you didn't set, and knowing the categories is what turns a surprise into a line you can plan around.
A review or suspension arrives as a deadline with a form attached, and what decides it is usually whether the documents were already assembled. Keep one folder, six items and a plain covering note, and the request becomes a lookup rather than a scramble.
Channels don't publish how they order listings, and they don't need to. The ordering is a prediction built from signals you can see and mostly control, which is why the useful work sits in your title, photos, reviews and calendar rather than in guessing at a rule.
An overbooking gets worse the longer it stays unspoken. The first two hours are about confirming it's real, deciding who moves, and calling the guest closest to the door before they discover it themselves.
A same-day turn gives one room two guests in one day, so the calendar has to be right twice. The handoff between cleaner and calendar is what keeps the two in step, and it's easier to design than to improvise.
A change made in the wrong tool looks like it worked and quietly doesn't. The channel that issued the confirmation still holds the original, so that's where the change has to happen.
A triage order separates the messages that can wait until morning from the few that can't. Sorting by what each message costs if it waits keeps a locked door from sitting behind ten routine questions.
A length-of-stay discount is one rule you enter on four channels. Keeping it consistent is a recording habit before it's a pricing decision, and the drift you catch is usually a typo rather than a change of plan. Almost every mismatch is a missed edit, not a strategy.
A discount applied everywhere looks tidy in a settings screen, but it's four decisions wearing one label. Each channel carries a different cost for the same night, so the same cut does different work depending on where it lands. This checklist covers per-channel reasoning, the cost floor, and the review date that ends a programme on time.
Two channels can return the same money for the same night and still leave you short in a given week. Net payout modelling starts by putting every channel on one timeline, then working backwards from the nightly rate to what you actually keep. This guide covers the overlap month and the buffer that covers the gap.
